Well, no worries, if people don't like it it just makes it easier for me to get served _________________ Libraries gave us power, then work came and made us free. What price now for a shallow piece of dignity? |

No pilau rice?
How about nams, popodoms, Mango chutney, bombay duck and yogurt and mint sauce? _________________ Syd--------Shine on you crazy diamond

I always have a bit of raita in the fridge, It's easy:
Yogurt
Cucumber
Mint
Roasted cumin seeds
Chilli to taste
Takes all of 15 minutes to make. Easy. _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

As we're on this subject, I've been trying to to cook curies for about 25 years.
I was in that Golden Place shop recently and found black eyed beans. They're the tops for a veggie meal, but I passed wind a lot.
Bring it on, Penang. I'll get twice as much as last time!! _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |

Someone didn't read the menu Nan's present and correct, and delicious, especially the garlic nan. Raita, aloo and many other dishes all seemed present and correct too. _________________ Libraries gave us power, then work came and made us free. What price now for a shallow piece of dignity? |

cheap beer also, curry not hot enough, but great portions, only down side not always have the tandoori on.

Gonna have to sample this place soon, been waiting for a good Indian restaurant since ... well ... since I came here. The best one I've had in Thailand was in Phuket somewhere a few years ago. _________________ Named must your fear be before banish it you can. |

I currently get a take away from the night market
Not a 100% Indian but likable. No variety though. Just good chicken ( a sizable leg and tender white meat) and a nice saffron flavoured rice
Got to turn up early. She starts 5pm and normally sells out by 7pm
The rice is excellent and has a crispy ginger topping ( she won't give me the recipe, understandably)
Good as a basic and then you add your own bits at home
Very cheap too (40baht for a sizable portion)
They have a gigantic pot probably 18 inches deep and 3 feet across full to the brim
On the right before the Mexican place. Can't miss it. The boss is 5 foot tall 6 foot across and probably weighs 25 stone
I sometimes get with one of her masamans and mix it
I have some weird tastes _________________ Syd--------Shine on you crazy diamond

"What's bombay duck???" "What's bombay duck???"
HHS you shock me !!! How could a proven epicurian gourmand such as yourself not know this ? You will be telling us you don't know the difference between a pancake/spring roll next !!! Let alone the unmentionable other thingies .
Prefer it with good lime pickle and a pint of Lal Toofan or Kingfisher myself .An acquired taste, (14 pints of the above helps) but delicious .
Doubt it is called the same in the RTW so you are forgiven

I know a few mamasans but I'm sure I'd never mix it with a good curry _________________ Syd--------Shine on you crazy diamond
