Hi to all lovers of Thailand (and things connected!)
I've recently been writing and receiving a number of postings from/ to very helpful people.
Under a posting regarding City Beach Hotel, I had made a few comments singing the praises about the cheapness of a very efficient agency sawadee.com. Embarassed
Pete B suggested that I look at the forum listed below, oops! Surprised
http://forum.sawadee.com/viewtopic.php?t=962
Shoot em up None of them are faultless, of course, but they should all correct faults/ problems immediately and honestly. Maybe I am judging too soon, I will try to get a response from them as I have used them before with no problems to book a lot of hotels.
I think it would be useful if some of you could add your comments about this and other agencies.
Cheers

Hi, Bob of Moto Guzzi (Nah - I prefer MGB)

Bernd seems to pick things up very well for Sawadee.

Hope that all is going to be OK there (I saw your post) . Their site and info base (particularly maps and reviews - coupled with Forum information) is excellent.

There is also another site, that may be of interest:

Cheers

Booked a week early December 2004 at Andaman Lanta Resort with Sawasdee. Very professional, enougth e-mail back and forth to keep you up to date on the reservation. Suspect that the problems being discussed are due to a massive cancellation by people not knowing the exact extent of damage, and not wanting to risk a bad holiday experience. Great Hotel by the way, and Lanta itself has a nice laid back atmosphere, try Lanta Seafood, good and cheap! thumbs up

Hells bells (no I'm not that old!) Two responses, that's excellent! thumbs up
Thanks very much for the information.
Wow, you get around, PeteB, what a mine of information!
GinTonic no lime (haven't drunk that for a few years, more of a whiskey/ brandy man meself, that's after(!?) the beer!) has a valid point and one I did think of later, we'll see.
Yes Bernd does seem to try.
I'm not in a hurry to book hotels (I'll be hiring a car to travel around and so stay at a few hotels around the South before slowly heading up to HH). I have the flight tickets and it's not peak time in August (However, the tickets are with Phuket Air - found out a few not so good reports about them - can't be worse than Began(?) Air the Bangladesh airline, I flew with a few years ago. Phuket Air are local for me from Gatwick and flying direct on the way out with I've found out a fuel stop on the way back - can't figure that out unless it's cheaper fuel one way - nah that's nuts, isn't it?)
Cheers
MGB

Hi MGB (I had 2 of them as well)
Flew Phuket Air from Krabbi-BKK in December. Other than the flight leaving Krabbi 1 1/2 hours late they did everything well !! Shocked
Since my teeruk and I had a Thai Air connecting flight to Chaing Mai in BKK, they sat us at the very front of the first flight, and as soon as the plane stopped rolling, they scooted us out to a waiting airport vehicle which whisked us to the next plane, avoiding all the security and hassle inside the terminal... thumbs up This was done without any prompting on my part, and certainly was the only way that we would have made our flight, as we were back in the air in about 20 minutes total !! So I have to give a Cheers to them for that. Hope you fare well on your trip.
PS: rode a few Guzzis in my day too.... my yahoo handle is ST1100... but of course you know those as Pan European's

Hi chaps,

Afraid that we decided that Phuket Air is too much of a risk - even though Gatwick is very close to my Sussex abode. EVA Evergreen D/L in 9 days time (but who is counting).

Not Hua Hin this time but meeting up with a Hua Hin buddy for 3 nights in Bangkok, so will get all the info.

EVA seem to have some good offers at the moment - companion (2 travelling) economy fares from £356 per person!

Sorry was a BSA DB34 Goldie person myself!

Cool

Hi fellas
Good to hear from you both and thumbs up thanks for the comments. Hope you have a great trip, PeteB, where ever you're going, always liked Bangkok for a few days. Let us know about the trip, recommendations, etc. if you have the time/ inclination on return. Nice bike the BSA Goldie. So is your ST1100, GT no lime, especially for those seriously long trips.
Heard Eva is good from a few friends, unfortunately, I have to go peak time and they don't come close in price (£480 incl. tax end of July).
Cheers
