Soi 102 (past Lotus leaving town, u turn under the flyover).

It's a long way up 102, about 2-3 kms, and the road is bad. Follow the signs.

It is not a straight shot, you have to make a right and then a left and it is easy to miss the sign. So keep a eye open for them. The road is a mess and the pot holes may have some tuk tuks in the bottom of them. Cussing Cussing Well they are almost that big

Went there yesterday for the second time to get my 1 month extension. As before I received extremely friendly service. All the officials were smiling and talking very politely. Also, my visa actually expires on Sunday 13th but as the office is closed on Sat and Sun, I had to go there yesterday which was 11th. I thought that I'm going to lose two days because of this but when I left the place and looked at the stamp, it stated that my extension will expire on the 12th as if I had gone there on Sunday.
It was actually a pleasure to visit the office.

True! Always take a shower, smear on a bit of deodorant and don fresh duds before dealing with those who can make life inconvenient!
And keep a few baht handy as well... Idea

True. When I was waiting for my turn there, a man walked in shirtless and was quickly told to go out and come back when dressed properly.

Give him a break, he probably thought there was a swimming pool at the back and that he could use it while he waited for the efficient service thumbs up

Well a record breaker I think

I went for my 90 day report at about 11.30

Reception was full of a mix of grumpy farangs and of course the usual smattering of the string vest and shorts brigade

Strolled in with my friend. We were both dressed respectably and through to the 90 day report room

I'd lost my form that you normally fill and the lady on the mobile handed me one took my passport and scanned through it and when I started to fill in the form she shook her head.

Whilst still on the phone she extracted my 90 day slip, banged a few details in the register, stamped a renewal date on the back of the form and restapled the form back in my passport.

Then put the phone down and after I asked what the renewal requirements were for my retirement renewal next month, she confirmed that nothing had changed.

Exchanged pleasantries with the usual laughs got up and walked out.

Frosty faces in the reception area as I guess they were puzzled by us walking in going to the room and walking out all in the space of 2 or 3 minutes.

My friend remarked 'I wonder how many in reception are waiting for a 90 day stamp'.

NEVER had any problems up there and it's always wise to dress well and ask polite questions. You get straight answers back with with a smile.

Could it be my natural charm

Very Happy

No Richard.
Happens to me all the time as well so it has nothing to do with charm!

So let me double check here.

The Hua Hin Singkohn Immigration office is closed on Saturday and Sunday?

OK I return from a trip to Europe at 4:30 AM on Saturday, May 31st.

24 hour requirement puts me as having to report by Sunday 4:30 AM.
My 90 day also needs to be done that day.

Be nice to overnight in Bkk rather than taking the taxi back here after a 12 hour flight.

Two questions for the resident experts.
1. what is the penalty for not reporting within 24 hours?
2. will they allow that since they are not open on Sunday, Monday will be the best I can do. . .or what?

Anyone have any experience of this?

Chas; elderly gentlemen such you and myself, do not seem to have any problem at Hua Hin immrigration.

1. Last time that I did this(Christmas) I did not report at all---not mentioned when I went for my next 90 day.

2. 90 day reporting is NOT due until 90 days from your last entry, which in your case will be the end of August. Cheers

Thanks Nereus!
I went in and got my reentry permit and 90 day report at the same time. . .60 days or so ago so that needs renewal when I next arrive at the Immigration office.

Now, I know there is a short grace period for the 90 day report, so that does not worry me. . .its the 24 hour thing. . and I do NOT get the impression from previous posts that age is a determining factor. (I am on a retirement visa though.)

BTW: I never describe myself as "elderly", though I am probably older than you! I find that as time goes on, I am older than most people.
