pfotoguy369, sad as it is, it's mainly because of the belief in reincarnation that should be blamed on this sorry state.

I'll probably get flamed for this. First let me say I am a animal lover and I guess that's why it bothers me. I go up soi 56 going home and in one spot there must be 20 to 30 dogs laying on and around the street. a lot of them have mange and are crippled. they look to be starving. and malnourished.

My opinion is they would be better off being put down than made to suffer an existence than that.

If people really wanted to help these dogs they'd have them neutered and spayed.
I'd love to have a dog or a cat but I travel to much. It would be unfair to the animal.

People often ask "what is it you miss about the States?" MY CAT!!

it's really the only thing I miss. that stupid lump of orange fur named Nub

The neutering clinic will be opening in October. If you'd like to report the dogs to them, I'm sure they would try to fit these dogs into their schedule.

I am in touch with the people who will be running the clinic, but, sadly, due to our present problems, won't be as closely involved with it as I'd like - at least not for the first few months. Running the center alone with just my worker is proving to be enough work for me, particularly with the problems that keep coming.

I understand about the reincarnation thing and the respect for life. (at least for animals) in this country.

Back when I had the ranch we had up to 16 animals at one time.

My ex was a Veterinarian assistant so all our brood was well taken care of. Shots, spays, neutering everybody but the horse.

I must admit shamefully . we did have a couple of cats die from cancer. Well we put them to sleep ourselves but in all honesty we let them go a little to long. for our benefit not there's. Like I say I hate to see an animal suffer.

There's a poor dog out in front of my condo that's very old, been hit by a car, can only walk on 3 of 4 legs and if it's been raining will drag itself at times.

More than once I contemplated on taking it and having put to sleep but I guess it's just not my place to do that.

There are many alligator farms in the area and there have been rumors of strays being taken and fed to them. I don't know how true that is but there is usually some truth to every rumor.
