Can anyone help. Thinking of visiting Krabi what is best way to get there from Hua Hin? Is there a VIP bus like the one to Phuket ?
Any ideas? |

there certainly is, it picks up near the clock tower.
you will need to get your ticket well in advance to get a seat , there are buses at various times of day as well as the vip over night bus which arrives at daft o'clock in the morning
info on this HHAD page for aircon bus second class there are also 32 and 24 seaters

you can book at the main bus depot near the level crossing at chomsin rd or at any local tour shop which may be the better option if your Thai is not so good, there is a small tour shop around the corner from the clock tower opposite the tessa ban school |

Another option that I prefer but slower but safer is the train to Surat (Phunphin) and then the minibus across the peninsular on the new motorway. About ten hours in total.
The only downside is that you may have to get Tuk Tuk or bus from Surat Thani station to the minibus stop and you get dropped about 2 KM from Krabi center which will require a songthaew at 50 BAHT per passenger. In both case taxis are available but more expensive. It is possible to pick up the minibus at Surat station but no timetable seems to be available. _________________
