That is the question TomD it is totally what you make of it is any where you go Hua Hin is a pretty laid back small town but there is plenty going on .The beaches are much better here than Pattaya although there are a few jelly fish around.. if you need full on in your face night life maybe Pattaya would be a better option but check out the info on the site with what’s going on and make your own mind up
Hua Hin has plenty to offer for a small town and the out reaches of Prachuap do have some fantastic scenery within short driving distances thumbs up

If you rent a bike or a car it'll be flexible for you to hang around Rayong beaches, getting sun bath during the day and head back to Pattaya when it's getting dark. I like the area between Pattaya and Rayong, many nice landscapes, goft courses and nice restaurants. Pattaya is not my place so I have no comment.

Have funs,

Thanks so far.....What do i like ,well ideally i like a fairly lively area at night and something to see in the daytime but i'm not sure what hua hin is like at this time of year( end of September / start of October) but i also think Pattaya might be over the top for me.

Appaerntly Pattaya is pretty quiet at the moment too, however a quiet day in Pattaya would be like the busiest day in Hua Hin!

There really isnt much comparison between the two, as said before it depends what you're looking for.

Pattaya is a mad place! The price of living is reputed to be at London prices!
Its also Falang land, with mafia types roaming about too!

I know where I'd be headed! Very Happy
