Awesome Info right there
Looking @ the Line up of this year it's Thai Raegge and Ska, some Pop Rock and Funk that promises to be great day out @ Da BEACH, looking forward to this event. For a Raegge & Ska lover like a no brainer and a not to miss event.
I had allready missed last years event which I regret and this year I'm in danger of missing this second installment as wellas I ,y Plane will leave on that very date that this festival takes place.
But I'll postpone my flight til the 5th of May then!!!

Anyone going? Its on this Saturday.
Had a little look last year and although some of the music was pretty good I did feel my age, not many over 25s there!
Takiab town will be turned into a car park on Saturday so give it a swerve if you're on four wheels! _________________ Illegitimi non carborundum |

| Does this take place on the north (Hua Hin) side of Khao Takiab mountain or the south side Takiab beach? |

Yes, I'll be going. After diving into Songkran and having a ball, I'm open to attend other events. Went down to Takiab yesterday and was impressed with how much of the beach the event covers. Lots of pavilions being set up.
Likewise, I'm too old so will be taking earplugs and making sure my fillings are in tight. |

Just got back from this event. Arrived at 7pm, left at 9.30. This was my first attendance so made a mistake by not buying tickets. If I'd bought a ticket I'd get to the front of the stage and have a free meal. I didn't so was back watching one of the large TVs they had set up.
Have to say it was wall to wall people all along the beach. Amazing turnout. I have no idea who the bands were but they must be national since most people knew the tunes.
Temperature was bearable, lots of young things, nice atmosphere but we decided to leave just in case alcohol spoilt the experience. Our youngster was nodding off too.
Music was great. A Maori/Polynesian music slot was entertaining. Lots of food and drink stands and we were not ripped off like we would be in the UK. Bought a roll mat 100thb to sit on and parked the motorbike at Jomcharee. Cars not recommended at all. As we left, the queue was still stretched all the way to Petchkasem. Looked like one of the boats on the water caught fire.
There are 3 elevated VIP sections with good positions. If anyone knows how to get into one of those next year, I might try it.
IMO Worth the effort! _________________ “The ultimate ignorance is the rejection of something you know nothing about and refuse to investigate.” - Dr. Wayne Dyer |

I ended up going last night, just to keep the spouse company really.
The descriptive words that come immediately to mind are "hell" & "chaos". Thai organization at its absolute worst (no crowd control, chaotic traffic and parking . .. no toilets??) The main stage was a distant glimmer on the horizon when we managed to claw our way to the beach through the 100,000 teenagers. ( Conservative crowd estimate) I have honestly never seen so many people at one event and yes, all Thai and all under 20 . . ..and all drunk or well on the way to it.
Dont try to take in a vehicle, you will go crazy in there. . .motorcycle in as far as you can then walk the last mile, which is what we did. One road in and out . .need I say more. People were still arriving at midnight when we were leaving . . .unbelievable.
It had its few bright moments, but standing in the surf as the tide came in with huge piles of garbage ( old mats, plastic bags, food containers, bottles, shoes . . .you name it) piled up on the tide line and swirling underfoot. .that is a memory I can do without.
No clue what was playing on stage . . .but the DJ nearby kept yelling at us to have fun and "make some noise ". .and then complaining that he couldnt hear us. . .like that was our problem!
Anyway, definitely the event for you if you are Thai, 18 years old and hanging with a crowd of your friends. |

Hi there HHAD freinds and fellas
Thank you very much Chas for your detailed discription of the Situation " the event. Allthough I was in town and actually wanted to go to that 2nd Honda Summer Fest. but then I was allby myself so it wouldn't be real Fun though. nother thing that dissed me into not goin there was them damn Traffic. As I witnessed trafic crawlled from as far as Klaiklangwon palace up until the venue. Hell yes we them red lights that keept flowin a bit.
Boy I thought would miss a lot yesterday Whjen I wasn't there Ringside " the stage. but as you discriebd that the stage was a shimer in the Horizon was relieve that didn't went but as a Raegge Head I have to go nect year but this time get me a Ticket at Stageside!!side

I now see a Summer Jazz Festival in June advertise in the pink header part of each page.
Will this be the same zoo type atmosphere as the Honda Summer Fest., or is it historically more laid back and a different type of attendee? Pete _________________ Toon Army - 59 Points. 4 clear at the top.

I've only been to the Jazz Fest but judging by the photo's of the Summer Fest the Jazz one is much more laid back with a bigger age range. |
