Beyond 40 meters you haven't got long, less than ten minutes. Different dive computers calculate it differently, I use a Suunto which is quite conservative and very annoying when you're doing multiple dives. It went into 'deco mode' quite often during this trip which essentially means I have to stop at certain depths for longer before surfacing (most was 12 minutes deco). No problem really as the dive is longer and the light is better for photography at shallower depths (bad if you need a slash or are low on air thou!).
The deep stuff and drift diving are also good but they're more about the feeling and the adrenaline as opposed to just cruising slowly and getting photos. _________________ Illegitimi non carborundum |

| Deep diving doesn't hold the fun anymore for me, rather spend more, leisurely time in shallower water |

Yes, take a piss. You just piss, simple as that. |

But you better be hydrated enough that your urine doesn't have a strong odor or everyone back on the boat will know you pissed in your suit as soon as you start taking it off! _________________ An American taxpayer voting Democrat is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders... |

Yeah peeing in your wetty is only recommended as a last resort!
Here is the final sub-aqua batch, thanks again for all the compliments, my head is swollen, I'm quitting work and doing this for a living instead!
Fish frenzy
Rush hour on the reef - Verde island
This Nudi was one of the finalists for 'come dancing' (Glossodoris atromarginata)
Nudi sex, yes they do get some action too (Nembrotha cristata)
Spiky
Nudibranch (Nembrotha chamberlaini)
Fire urchin
Nemo's last peek
The tiny and elusive Pygmy seahorse, this thing was smaller than a thumbnail and is very difficult to photograph
The ascent
A few Terra-firma ones on the way now ... _________________ Illegitimi non carborundum |

I've enjoyed the photos Buksi, but as much as I have enjoyed the close ups, and if into photography, I can imagine the pleasure principle there, its the reef scenes and others of a more panoramic nature that I have enjoyed most. Obviously, its all down to the individual.
By the way, when I first viewed 'Fimbriated Moray getting a teeth polish' I thought it was a photo of a duck, taken from above - and that the open mouth was actually the ducks bill! Then I had to think, "what would a duck be doing underwater?" _________________ bibamus, moriendum est

The wide-angle stuff is tough as you really need good kit to 'capture the moment' - it is far better in reality! Nobody does telephoto under water for obvious reasons so macro is the closest you can get as a non-pro.
It also helps to know what you're looking at, after hundreds of dives you know you'll see the same stuff every time so the general idea is finding something a little different. In ten years of diving this was the first time I have seen a frogfish and a pygmy seahorse so I was thrilled.
On the other hand I've done countless dives with sharks in Oz, you don't get them too often in Asia as they're part of the local diet so its all a bit of a balance really! _________________ Illegitimi non carborundum |

Some above-the-surface ones here ... most around the Sabang bay area:
One more sir?
Taking the taxi back to the bright lights of Sabang
An island made of broken coral
Another one of those Sabang sunsets
I'm a sucker for them
Our captain, they start em early in the Philippines
Aint it beautiful?
Fishing on one of those reefs that you're not supposed to fish
Kids making their getaway in the world's smallest boat
Hurry up and get me out of here, I need a slash
Storm brewing over Verde Island
That's about it folks, there are plenty more but you get the general idea. Thanks for watching and we'll see you again next year! _________________ Illegitimi non carborundum |

Yeah, don't cut us off completely for a year. I think you said you have 700+ pics, post a few on this thread from time to time as the months go by. Pete
PS: Don't be shy to post a few more of the women either. _________________ Toon Army - 59 Points. 4 clear at the top.

I like photo no1. As I've never been scuba diving, I 'm quite prepared to sink a few cold beers with the likes of her whilst I wait for friends to decompress _________________ "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered". George Best. |
