Hi jesper,

Welcome to the forum. You've made a good choice in Hua Hin and, for bars, you could do a lot worse that check out another area of this site, which has a lot of info.

Start at http://www.huahinafterdark.com/bars.htm and work your way through.

There is also a map available http://www.huahinafterdark.com/map.htm and many reviews on accommodation in the appropriate forum section.

Everyone has different tastes, so try the search facility at the top of the page, or just browse.

Good luck Cheers

Peter

Good advice from PeteB, and I would like to add that you will find Hua Hin quite a bit different from Pattaya and Phuket. It does have a bar scene and there are plenty of girls around but everything here is a little more sedate, and much less 'in your face'. There are also some great beaches in the area, not just the main beach, and you can really get away from it all here. Lots of hotels and guest houses at all prices too so check out the link given by PeteB. Hope you find what you want in our little paradise! Cheers

Jesper...i will be heading to phuket and patong area in august before i go to hua hin. You mentioned you did not like patong. I have never been there bo i am curious to hear from you what you did not like about it. As for Hua hin i am just another traveller and have only been there once for a week last august. I notice some people on here are quite protective of their little town and you dont always give it straight up.

My take on hua hin from one tourist to the next is this. I went primarily to golf and i can say there are about 5 wonderful courses i played. In fact when i went most days i was the only one on the course and they are beautiful. The town is quiet and you can find accomodation at some very reasonable prices. As for the bars are concerned. You can check my earlier post to hear a story from last year. The girls in the beer bars seemed friendly but they are certainly not high caliber. Most bars only had about 5 or 6 girls working in them ranging from 5-7 at best. I settled on some near the end of my trip but i was definately scraping the bottom of the barrel compared to what i am used to. The girls that go to the Hilton club later at night seemed a little more attractive and it may not cost you anything. All in all i enjoyed hua hin for its quiet layed back attitute. If you are coming stictly for the girls you may want to rethink it unless there has been a complete overhaul at the bars.

Hope that helps a little. Please shed some light on what you didnt like about patong for me. Thanks.

Hello Isiah.
I was in Patong in June and i found it very quiet. There was only some action in Bangla Rd.I talked to alot of people there and buisiness there is very slow. But there still are some very hot girls around speciel in Tiger intertantment. But i think its because i compaire with Pattaya then i will find other places quiet Smile
I think i have to changes my plans and go to Pattaya again becayse i really like to have a very good time in the nights and if HH is quiet and the girls there are quiet the same then its nothing for me.I read your story about the girls you brought back to your hotel,i have done the same in Pattaya but with alot of success and i belive the girls in Pattaya is very much experienced with how to treat a man in bed.
When you go to Patong and you go to Bangla Rd then go to the soi called Soi Eric a friend of mine have a bar there called MAI THAI bar and he will tell you everything about Patong and its a really cool and nice bar.Just tell him Jesper send you and he will know.
Why dont you go to Pattaya instead of HH they also have some very nice golf courses there and the nightlife id something words cant describe.
Have a nice holiday.

Well Pattaya is not out of the question either. Hua Hin is still a good place to go and there is certainly not the huge amount of farangs that i imagine are in pattaya. Competition is low. The price range in Hua hin is also good. Golf, Accomodation, food, drinks and girls can all be had for a fair price. I have heard all are conciderably more in Pattaya.

I dont really intend on picking up girls every night of the week. Maybe just a couple. I am really just a part time mongerer and still quite new to the whole scene. But you are right, if your main focus is for the girls than Pattaya would be much better. If i do end up in Pattaya any recommendations of places to stay or people to talk to? I will definately go see your friend in patong. Whats his name? Thx for the help.

I am a definite newbie...am planning to go to Hua Hin based on what alot of the kind blokes on here have stated. If i like it,I will stay for longer term.
But as far as the girls ...I can't speak with any authority,as I've not even been to Thailand YET,but I've been reading these posts for some time, and saw the pics, and JUST yesterday was in another site seeing pics of Pattaya girls....and I gotta say...the Pattaya gals seemed sweet but i saw very few real lookers. The Hua Hin gals seem to look a bit fresher.
I love all Asian women, and wish them all well and plan on treating them with all the kindness and respect they deserve, bar girls or not,but Pattaya gals looked pretty spun out in comparison.
Sorry, just my opinion as an outsider looking in.
I hope to be in Hua Hin in the next several months..I'm a Thailand virgin at 45 LOL.From what the locals like Lev and Buksida have posted,I gather that Hua Hin is just right for me.Not into the gawdy in your face stripper pole boogie..I'm born and raised in a beach town here in California, and I'm more low key and laidback.

cheers

Hi Isiah.
I just want to give you my opinion on this topic, and what you say about competion there are so many girls working in Pattaya so you will never have problems finding a real stunner if you behave well and look "normal" so you dont have to worry about that.About the price as i write before i just came back from Phuket in late june and i must say that the prices there are much higher than Pattaya actualy Pattaya is very very cheap compareing with Phuket and if you have plans to take a girl to your hotel then be sure that they are guest friendly because almost every hotel in Phuket now charges you alot extra for bringing girls to your room.I was lucky i only had to pay 300baht extra. But i talked to alot of people and some had to pay as much as 2000baht so they had to go to a cheap hotel for the night and only use their own hotel to take shower and rest alone.I was really so disapointed about Phuket but as i say its only my opinion some people really love Patong i will never go somewhere else.
My friends name is Nicke his is from Sweden and the owner of Mai Thai bar a really cool guy he has been there for more than 6 years now.
Have a good time.

Hi Soulsurf.
I have been in Thailand alot of times i normaly go 4 times every year and must of the times i go to Pattaya and i think that if you go Pattaya eigther you love it or you hate it.I am one of those who love it and after my holiday in Phuket in June i most say that nothing can compaire with Pattaya.I was thinking of going to HH but i after i have been reading some of the storries in here i think that it might be to quiet for me because i really like the bar-scene very much.About the looks of the girls i can only say that if you think the girls in HH look more fresh than the girls in Pattaya then you have to go to Pattaya and have a look because then you will see something else. There is arround 20 - 30.000 girls working in Pattaya so i will guess that you have only been looking on the internet and the bar who has a website is sometimes very old and not updated and there are comming new girls to the bars every day all year round. So if you are into the bar ago go scene and some wild nightlife then you HAVE to go to Pattaya no question about that but if you want more quiet and laidback holiday then i think that HH is the right place to spend your holiday.
Hope you will enjoy this wonderfull country and its nice and friendly people.

Jesper, Enjoy all the Pattaya girls to your heart's content my friend.
I just personally am not into that scene, and maybe it's an age thing(I'm 45) I think for me i am more a mellow laidback guy,and would prefer to
relax with no wild stripper type antics.I hope to just kick back with a nice gal, have a beer, a few laughs and if there is attraction,go from there.
I am born and raised in San Diego,California...and more particularly Pacific Beach...where literally everywhere you look, you will see some of the most stunning women in the WORLD...BUT many are selfish, money hungry biotches..I'm through with em...and i ignore most of them...I've always been more attracted to Asian women anyway.
Maybe it was just the site I was on regarding Pattaya...but i looked at over a hundred girls in the pictures...and to me...like I said,NONE were very attractive...just looked really worked-over...hard to explain.
But I'm glad you enjoy Thailand 4 times a year..You are a lucky guy!!!
Take care and enjoy

Mel Cheers

Hi soulsurf !

Spend some time with a nice friendly girl, have a few beers and relax on a calm and not too crowdy lovely beach, that's the way I like it too !
And that's what HH offered me last year on my first time there.
I guess you'll be happy like I was.
And after all, if you need both "action" in the evening and live in a real friendly atmosphere too, I suggest that you try North in Chiang Mai ... there is another Thaïland dream !

Cheers

SoulSurfer, dont take a few photos of girls on the internet as a guide to the quality of girls in an area. Most of the stunners/freelancers wont have thir photo taken anyway. I would say best looking girls are in Bangkok, followed by Pataya and then HH. But HH is easily the most relaxed atmosphere. Pataya is great if you can put up with all the English football hooligan types and Bangkok is just hot and crowded. The choice is yours. Good luck.

Thanks Larry and others for the insights. Like I said,I was only on one site, and i just thought the law of averages would have to kick in as I was seeing hundreds of different girls...but most (to me) looked pretty, but kind of worn out looking.
I have no doubts that there are lovelies EVERYWHERE....Bless ALL Thai gals hearts!!!! I love them all.
For me personally coming from Pacific Beach,Cali..land of hotties, SUV and ME ME ME...I look forward to being in the LOS...and seems HH is a good spot.
About me,I'm not Brad Pitt, but certainly not chopped liver LOL.
I think women will be the least of my concerns there.
I hope to meet some of you HHAD locals and have a beer, and learn from your experiences. You guys seem to be an intelligent, good hearted lot,and also humorous and very informative.

Cheers,
Mel Cool

Have to disagree with this Isiah. Although Pattaya certainly isn't for everyone, you can't knock the value for money there.

Partly due to the better infrastructure, but mostly due to the massive farang population, there are hundreds of bars, restaurants, guesthouses, hotels etc. The fierce competition for business means that IMHO the average price of a beer, meal or room can be quite a bit cheaper than Hua Hin. Certainly the quality of the rooms you can get there are much superior to what you'd get for the equivalent baht in HH. This was the one thing that impressed me the most about Pattaya. Can't comment on golf prices, I didn't play.

I like Pattaya, but only for a few days at a time. It can be a pretty mad place and anything goes. The girls in the Go-Go's are obviously more pricey than HH but the beer bar girls are generally available at the same going rates. And I have to say the quality can be quite a bit superior - with the sheer number of bars/girls to choose from what else would you expect.

I know a lot of people comment about the hooligan element in Pattaya and I know it's there, but I've never been bothered by anyone or noticed any kind of trouble - well, no more than you would expect in a town of that size.

If your sole purpose in coming to Thailand is for girls, excess and living out your fantasies, look no further than Pattaya....it's all there. I personally prefer Hua Hin's relaxed and easy going atmosphere. There's a lot of fun to be had here too, just not so much in your face.
