Don't know if someone has already mentioned this (been away for a bit) but what do you think of them cutting off the first 20 minutes of yesterdays England game to show re-runs of yesterdays news?
We tried all channels on UBC and cable, they were all showing the same thing. Did anybody else get this? What do you make of it? A cock up, or intentional? _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

I happened everywhere with all Thai chanels so I think it was intentional. I have a feeling it was "live", though. Not sure about the live part of it as I missed the broadcast on Friday. _________________ 知彼知己, 胜乃不殆; 知天知地, 胜乃可全

We just had half hour of news during the Holland game too, great seeing the final 15 minutes of the first half. It was just showing the events of the day, nothing live. It seems the world cup comes second, on every single channel, you'd think someone somewhere would have the sense to show the football on just ONE of the six channels all showing the same news programme.
Maybe not. _________________ I've got a bad feeling about this |

| I tried www.vtuner.com - you can download on a 15-day trial. It gives you access to over 8000 TV and radio stations. Couldn't find any live English commentry but loads of American sports shows so its a small possibility. |

Thanks Jockey I will try that. I drawn a blank with Beer Chang. Selected large venue tap Chang sellers only. The other options are too expensive.
Looks like no though that Thailand have not got the visual deal sorted properly from what people are saying. _________________

| The World Cup at the Hilton is terribe. The picture quality is trully awful, and they charge 130 baht for a small Singha |

No surprise. The quality of everything in the Hilton is shoite.
I have drawn a blank on all routes so far. I have a few more to try but will probably have to wait until tomorrow.
As for the King's celebrations are concerned I believe they draw to a close today. I am not surprised that the Thai TV network give it priority over World Cup. Thailand are not invoved and Thai people seem to be quite happy to watch re-runs later.
My last two attempts at gettin the commentary will be by trying streamd video channels and just discarding the video transmission and using a proxy server outside of Thailand.
If anybody out there can assist I would be grateful. I need to find a machine somewhere that has access to a commentary. I can then feed from that machine and by-pass the IP blocking.
I do have access to a server in London but can not get in touch with the operator because the owner has gone to Germany to see the games live.
Some people can be so thoughtless about the needs of others. _________________

The Royal Celebrations although not blanket coverage on all channels continue tonight and the 20:00 pm game will not be covered at all this evening on Thai TV.
A bit tough if you are French fan.
Agree with you 100% Guess that Thais are quite happy to watch re-run tapes of the games.

Seems to me that the superiority complex is rearing its ugly head again.
"We're more important than the W.C. so everyone will watch the same thing on 8 different channels"
It really is un-necessary, is just one channel showing the biggest event in sports too much to ask for?
Apparently it is.
