We're looking for accomadation for a family (2 kids) and like the look of these resorts. Sabai Jai and S'Mors are quite expensive but look really great, especially being so close to Hua Hin. The other option is the Dolphin Bay Resort which is 38km south of HH. It's much cheaper (about half price).
Has anybody been to any of these resorts ? What do you think fo them ?
Thanks,
Sid |

Never stayed at any of them but have a few observations, S'mor is more of a Spa/Resort for couples wanting a private time. Sabai Jai looked okay, both these places are in Khao Takiab which is still around 6km south of town.
Dolphin Bay is in Sam Roi Yod national park which is a beautiful place however around 45 minutes drive away from Hua Hin. Not sure about the accommodation though.

| Dolphin bay is a nice resort very good for families right on the beach private bungalows or hotel accom in the main building there is also condo style houses with private spar pools, very good value but you are about 30-40 mins outside HH to the south. |

Stayed @ DBR & next door @ DBBungalows - last late 2002. Think that DBR has changed hands since- Garry & Nipa most helpful. All quite pristine & unspoilt. Not a lot for the kids - just playing in the sand etc - but safe - no damned horses & associated miscreants. Have mate heading here in Nov to pop question to his lady during romantic walk on sand!! That kind of place? Only difficulty was getting taxi to return to HH on a couple of occasions. General prices fine same/slightly less than HHb] - just a couple of "seasonal shops" along the Caucusina lined beach/road + the mini-market @ DBR. Enjoyed.[/b] |

Dolphin Bay is not bad...stayed there for 2 nights....the owner (Gary) has come a long way, from building swimming pools in thailand -> owning guest houses in hua hin -> this newish complex he built himself. he's a friend of a friend ...friendly family type hotel....2 swimming pools...right on the beach....just make sure you have good weather as there's not a lot to do except sun it up! |
