Good, I'll go on in anglais.
The only buksida I know is the one living next door to a scooter freak.
They both descent from the Caucasian race and are farangs.
Wij is dam. (in cheerful Thai).

And JW, HNY and he's indeed a very good friend to most of us!!

Dear all again!
I just would like to answer to you guys whos wants to know what i will call Wij,
I calls him as Wij (his name) but yeah many of Thai people like to calls him many different, but I dont care what he is - nationality or colour - what we should care is: if he a good friend, good personality, good company, good heart and etc.
Some of people might like to taking the p*ss out of him but I think he is one of good person to know and a thing to makes i think he is good person to know is; He is a straight guy, many people doesnt like him and many times they have talk about him when he has turn his back to them because he is too straight thats why some of people might like to think he is a DAM funny foreiner or someone even calls him a Suddam!

Please taking care of his feelings as we all know the colour and nationality is not make people bad or whatever in a funny strange way BUT people just makes them own way bad... ARE YOU RECK ON?
BUT YEAH HE IS DAM!!!!! Very Happy

Hua-Hin's a great place,just don't look at people in the eyes.
No,it is a great place i lived in Hua-Hin for three years and had only been bottled once and had a gun held to my head twice,
But as it goes the fighting in Hua-Hin it's nothing, trust me i was a sales man until them F.D.A stopped me.
No,all and all bring you're chidren as it is a great place, Hua-Hin is one of the oldest beach resorts in Thailand and the police have got Garry Glitter any way so you don't have a worry about that. So if you wanna be in my gang come to Hua-Hin. enjoy thumbs up

Just looked up ‘Farang’ in a Thai-English dictionary and it translates to

½ÃÑè§ Guava (yellow-skinned tropical American fruit)

Farang (Thai:½ÃÑè§) , sometimes pronounced falang, is the generic Thai word for a white foreigner. It is closely related to the Khmer word Barang. Africans or African-Americans will be occasionally referred to as farang dam (black farang). While generally farang is a neutral word, it can be used as an insult depending on its context. For instance, the expression "farang ta nam khao" (literally means farang with rice-milk-colored iris) would be considered an insult.

Farang is also the Thai word for the guava fruit, which of course can lead to "farang eating farang" jokes from Thai people when eating a guava in Thailand. Stingy or unruly foreigners can therefore also be referred to as kee nok (bird shit), which is the name of a particular variety of guava. Maan farang are potatoes, hence the similar joke "Farang gin (eat) maan farang". And stranger still, mak farang is chewing gum.

In the Isan language, the guava is called mak seeda, which can thus also be used to refer to a farang.

This word is borrowed Persian word Farang which means Frankish. Another explanation is that it derives from farangset, which is the Thai pronunciation of Français, the French word for 'French' or 'Frenchman'. France was one of the first European nations to establish cultural ties with Thailand, in the 17th century, so to Thais at that time, 'white man' and 'Frenchman' were synonymous. Others say that in Ayutthaya period, land was given to the Portuguese merchants to conduct their business at "Baan Farang" (Guava Village).

Farangi in Persian language refers to foreigners. In Tamil ( a Dravidian language spoken in southern tip of India) the word Parangiar (presumably because Tamil does not have a letter sounding 'F') refers to the Europeans, most specifically the British. Many South Asian languages have this word to denote foreigners.

After the lecture from Michael I think we have to invent a new word instead of farang.

In answer to Mrs Magoo's question.

Leaving aside what has been psoted above. I believe that she said in another post that she was visiting in July.

At that time of the year you may find jelly fish off the beach, where, when, what type and how many depends very much on tides and, it seems, the amount of rain there has been. If you have young children it might be best to check the sea before letting them charge in.
