Living in Birmingham, I consider myself to be a bit of a curry conisseur. Is there a decent and reasonably priced location where one can enjoy an Indian style curry, popadoms, onion bhaji, mint dip the works, to end the evening. Most curry resturants in Birmingham have cooks from Bangladesh, which is only over the sea from LOS.

There is no curry mile in Hua Hin as in manchester but there are a couple of places that attempt to resemble a curry house
never tried them due to loving Thai food

Thai curry rocks

Cheers

There are a few Indian restaurants in HH.
In my view, The Maharaja is the best. Air con, friendly and good selection of dishes. It's also relatively expensive.

,
I think Taj Mahal near Hilton on Naresdamri Road is very good place and has been for many a year.
It's not really expensive but has of late become more so.

I tried once Taj Mahal opposite the Jailhouse on Chomsin Road and won't do it again any time soon.

But, as The Man* said, to each his own.

Ahhh, Ruby Murry, my favourite food!

Been to all three Indian restaurants in HH although not recently, heres my opinion (I'm not sure of the names so will just do it by location):

1) Big posh looking place on Naresdamri Rd: Excellent curries though servings slightly on the small side. Expensive.

2) Opposite Jailhouse on Chomsin Rd: Curries are a little bland, and taste more Burmese than Indian, good value for money though.

3) Small Soi along side the World Coffee place: Shocking service (waited almost and hour and then it was wrong), food was mediocre at best, price was also mediocre. Wouldnt bother with this place.

I've only been to the one which is behind the Coffee World and although I have to admit, the service is often slow, I've enjoyed the food their. An English friend of mine who eats Indian food perhaps twice a week (in Bangers) also likes the food there so much that he visits it on every trip to Hua Hin. Maybe you should give them another go Buks

We've always enjoyed the Maharaja, though as you all say it can be pricey. The wierd bit though is trying to speak to Bangladeshi waiters in Thai...I'll never get my head round that one.

I'll second the last two posts - been to the Maharaja a couple of times and the food was good on each occasion. May be a little expensive compared to local thai restaurants but still pretty good value IMHO.
