| It might be advisable to mention that the Celtic Bar is slap bang in the middle of Soi Bintabaht, the girly bar area of Hua Hin as I note you're bringing your wife....but that's not to say she won't enjoy herself too!! |

I shall also be in Hua Hin for the 2nd time around the same time and will be there when you and your wife are holidaying.
I'm from your neck of the woods (well, from Fife like Rebus!) and lived in Embra for eight years so if you fancy sharing a beer and a chat one night let me know.
I'll be in the Anantara.
Cheers

I know this in an old post but how refreshing to read that a brit going abroad is trying to find an english bar.
The do's are get drunk, fight, sing loud football songs, take the piss out of the locals, eat fish and chips, piss in the street, wear your football shirt everywhere you go, wear you shorts, with sandals and socks, let your huge belly hang free, show your white ass belly to the world, complain about the weird local food. _________________ www.notiowa.com |

They could certainly learn a thing or two off the Dreadlocked folks on Khaosan who try to look like they've been here for years but still have to walk around with a lonely planet glued to there face. |

Like the line from the Alex Garland novel, The Beach: "I'm going to find one of those Lonely Planet writers and ask him, what's so f***ing lonely about Khaosan Road!!!”
Actually the last time I visited Khaosan there was a couple of good bars and restaurants in that area. |

Ah Pattaya, went there last year as recommended by our travel agent in Manila - We checked into this crappy hotel (that was also recommended, pre-booked and paid for) - with in an hour we moved out of that toilet and moved into the Marriot (much nicer) we did occasionally walk outside of the hotel grounds into the disgusting hole that is pattaya, with it's child porn openly for sale in the streets, best way to sum up pattaya - we saw a sign on the side of a building stating "cocksuckers wanted apply within" in six inch high letters - great place (not)- wont ever be going back! I hope it and all the disgusting fat european peadophiles sink into the sea never to be seen again.
Hua Hin is like a whole different and much nicer country. _________________ www.notiowa.com |

As my post stated this travel agent was in Manila (the Philippines) - We were having a mini asian tour and were head quartered in Manila and booking through her (much cheaper than doing it in the UK!)
And so I knew nothing about Pattaya, it was my first visit to Thailand (the second was two weeks ago) If we had not visited Bangkok also we probably would not have even bothered coming back. - Now after Hua Hin we are seriously considering moving out within a year. _________________ www.notiowa.com |

I once took a quick look at a travel brochure for Thai package holidays and in the Pattaya section it simply said "vibrant nightlife"
Its always a funny sight to see Mr & Mrs Falang walking around that town....
He sneaking looks right and left, trying not to move his head, while she is enraged, purple veins bulging in her neck, as she realizes ahe is actually a 2/10. |

Hey acerockolla, I see that you're residing in God's country. Which part of Devon are you from? We don't get that many Janners on here. _________________ Green Army position 21
