CoCo 51 has the best Thai and Ferang food in town. located at the bottom of soi 51 overlooking the beach. Not only that their wines are excellent and the service impeccable

After your first visit you 10% discount as with many other establishments but you also always get a visit from the boss enquiring how is the meal?

If your looking for good ferang food try their salads (ceasars and Greek exceptional) and lamb chops. Not to mention the pork knuckle

I'll be there again soon. Tonight maybe!!!

That is good to know as we were thinking of giving it a try when we come out next January.

I found the portions really small, maybe just ordered thr wrong thing! Nice place and good service. The Dukes restaurant in the same street was very disappointing, quality was crap.

Dukes has lost it

Portions small? Maybe your a big man but the 4 lamb chops plus all the veg were great for me. As for the pork knuckle, there was so much I took half home!

Got to agree with the Isan Farang (note the change of spelling Richard). Never had a bad or even mediocre meal there. Try the Thai wine - Chateau Loie - very drinkable!

Shouldn't it be Isaan Farang? Or maybe Isaan Falang?

Even over my meagre few years here I've seen so many spellings of Thai words converted to English, I've given up. At the end of the day we should all learn to read Thai or Lao but I'm a lazy old man, (and deaf too), ferang (felang)

I get by. Probably because I have a Thai/Lao/English speaking Doris.

She gets the blame for me being lazy. I dare not tell her that though. That would create WW3 and the Chinese, TRT and US would not be able to stop that one. Not ready to become another 'Hitler' yet

RIchard, have eaten in a fair few places in HH, but must admit, I have not come across Coco51 on my travels. Can you advise me where it is situated (not sure where soi 51 is), as I will have to give it a visit on my next trip.

It's off Petchakasem and you cross Naebkehard and down to the sea and it's on the left hand side

On the map the soi in question is called Damrongrat road

To give you further bearings I'd say it was about 2 kms north of the Hilton

Richard, I have think that I have found where it is. I stayed at the bottom of Soi 55 (next to Buffallo Bills Steak House), but did not venture any farther north than that.
I have looked on the map and have now seen where Soi 51 is and that would have been the reason that I did not find it.
I normally go the other way on the beach and walk down to the Lets Sea Bar (down past the Marriot).
Is there any other places up that way on the beach to go to, or is is just on its own up there.
Cheers Cheers Cheers

Ther are a few but cocos is the best. They are few and far between as you are getting near to the Palace

Do you really support that Russian side/ I'm a staunch Leeds/Bates supporter. We'll get back eventually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Richard, thanks for that, and yes I do support London's finest English team (at present housing at least 5 of the current England Squad).

One of my finest memories of Wembley was getting a ticket to the 70 Cup Final (against Leeds if you had forgot).
What a great keeper you had that day, diving over the ball to give us our 1st goal, and then going missing for the second.
I watched the replay again about 12 months ago on TV, and is still as good as it was on the night in question.

Thanks agaon for the info on Coco 51, and will have to make a visit next time I am there.
Cheers Cheers Cheers
