Ok. On to home owner's problem #38! Clogged drain.
This is not a house drain and can not be solved by Draino. The house drains are all fine.
This is a major drain that carries water from the house to the swamp or wherever it goes eventually. . .when it is going. True, it belongs to the development but they ( in the person of the handyman) just shrugged their shoulders about it. True, the water goes down. ..eventually but we have to be careful not to do a washing and then take a shower or we get a back up.
We need a "roto-rooter" guy. .that was they are called in the states. Someone with a big snake thing that can rout out whatever is blocking the pipe. It is about 20 meters long. Hate to dig it up and replace it if I dont have to.
Suggestions anyone? |

Chas,
Maybe your septic tank need emptying.
That would I think be your first course of action. If that doesnt help you may need a "rota rooter"

Thanks Oz, but the septic tank is new and has a different pipe and pipeline. It is fine.
This line is only for shower, sinks and washing machine and it flows into the development system "sewer". I think it just goes into the nearby swamp and thence into the sea. The large "box" into which it flows is accessible and that drains OK. It is just the pipe from the smaller box next to the house to the larger streetside box. (It passes near a mango tree that is probably very thirsty and I am thinking roots.) |
