Nightstalker after reading what you just wrote, I am sure most people will be happy you do not attend any of the lunches in town. The town will be a much happier place.

Randy

My second name should be Ebinnezza

I loathed Christmas because of the hype, spending and everything over the top. It was great as a kid but in later days it proved to be an over expensed build up to a day where inlaws and parents were in battle

Here it is at least a one day event and then all over

Richard i agree goose is not only traditional but IMHO better, I managed to get one about 3/4 years ago and cooked it myself it was ok but my chef experience did not do it justice. By the way i saw 3 geese on the Khlong on canal road only a few days ago. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Try explaining that concept to most of the Thais who live outside Thailand. That's if they even know where 'roman' is!

Richard,

I don't know how often you are in Bangkok. Go to any food trader in Chinatown, ask them for a goose (thai 'Haan or Harn), bring it to me and I'll cook it for you, just make sure it's a fat one, the thin ones are as tough as old boots.

Thanks JD

Will do. I'm in BK in a couple of weeks but have friends who could get me a nice fat one.

Not yet sure whether I'm here or Khon Kaen but in any case I'm sure if I'm up northeast I could get all the bits and trimmings from you and take it all with me!!!!!
