Singha. Purely for the taste....and it don't give me a headache in the morning.
Don't like the flavour of Chang and find Heineken and Tiger very very bland. _________________ Never trust a hippy.... |

Always Singha, but for some reason I tend to switch to Chang when I go to the North East.

Heineken on tap far surpasses them all IMHO. I hadn't had any for a long time until a week ago and it was a delicious beer, had 4 pints in fact. You can't even tell it's the same "name" beer that's in the bottles here. No similarity at all.
In a hurry to get happy or, at the beach and need ice to keep it cold - Chang.
Long haul drinking - Tiger or bottled Heineken
Singha - simply makes my mouth and tongue pucker up too much after a few, but a few from time to time are good.

So some say. This keg brew though actually had the nutty taste of the Heineken you get in Europe. A pleasant surprise for this tropical outpost of beer loving humanity, who thirst for something new and different. Pete |

As I live in UK I know what European Heineken is like and I still hold the opinion it is gnats pi$$. Never drunk it in LOS as there are far better drinks in my opinion. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about this !!

Virtually all lager on tap on the UK is crap because of the way it is served up. The Heineken in Amsterdam bears no resemblance to the weedy 'draught' Heineken in the UK. _________________ "The man who never made a mistake never did bugger all" - Old Welsh proverb

Heineken in the UK of course did used to be gnats' stuff, but has since been replaced by the 5.4% Euro brew and is much better.
But to come back to the question as to what to drink in Hua Hin, surely each beer has its own merits. Tiger and Heineken make a nice change when the Chang has become a bit too sticky, while the draft Singha they serve at Mai Tai is a drink for all seasons. You can always have too much of good thing, so its best to pick the beer to suit the occasion.
I also find that the only thing that can cure a changover is another Chang. Any of the other beers just doesn't quite hit the right spot; but another Chang with a big bowl of really spicy soup for my breakfast and I'm happily back on the road to ruin. _________________ ดวงขึ้น

You should shift yourself out west across the water.
Now the next time anyone asks, what has Hua Hin got that Pattaya hasn't? we know the answer. _________________ ดวงขึ้น
