Well Jockey,
How are we going to do this season?
Tough test for us in the qualifying round v Spartak Moscow
Rnagers v Red Star - Huns should go through meaning if we do qualify, we split the money.
Liverpool and Arsenal to qualify also.
Off to Paradise tomorrow and unfurling of the League Flag.

Good results for both English and Scottish teams.
Arsenal and Liverpool appear to wrapped up their respective ties.
Rangers go to Belgrade 1-0 up, but could be difficult particularly if the Serbs get nasty as they clearly showed at Ibrox.
Celtic did well with 1-1 draw in Moscow away to Spartak - brilliant goal by Hartley and good performance from Mark Brown in goal. UEFA should not allow CL games to be played on artificial playing surfaces. Looking forward to the return tie at Parkhead. _________________ Hail! Hail! |

Well, as predicted the two English teams progressed and the Auld Firm made it through.
If there is a hard way of doing things then you can rely on Celtic finding it - skill more than luck was on our side and I just hope we learn from tonight.
Let's see what the draw brings. _________________ Hail! Hail! |

Difficult group for the Bhoys, but given our performances against both Benfica and AC Milan last season I think we can do a job. Of the three teams we have beaten Benfica and Shaktar at Parkhead and drawn twice with AC Milan at Parkehad in recent years - so we must achieve that elusive away win.
Just ordered my tickets so here we go again! _________________ Hail! Hail! |

fairly decent draw for all the british teams, except rangers
they have the toughest group by far. _________________ when all are one & one is all, to be a rock & not to roll. |

Must admit Rangers have a shocking draw, worst by far, but then Celtic's is not really much better on paper.
Saying that Celtic have had good results against all teams is all well and good, but Celtic have not had the best of starts (other than 5-0 against hearts), so will be interesting to see what happens.
A must for them is to beat Shakhtar Donetsk both home and away, and then get some positive results from the other games and then who knows.
Another team to not fair well was Liverpool, on paper that is a very strong group, it is always hard when you have to go to Turkey and play away games.
Anyway, will be good to see how all the British teams go

Well tonight the CL starts in earnest.
Probably ok for Liverpool and Chelsea tonight.
For Celtic it is an opportunity to make a sea change in our fortunes looking for a decent result away from home. Gordon Strachan will be looking to achieve a first away win for us, but a draw will do for me. Donatti and Brown have given us something special in midfield and another wonder free kick from Nakamura wouldn't go amiss. Hopefully AC Milan will beat Benfica. _________________ Hail! Hail! |

Ah well, back to the drawing board - same old result! In the end we were outplayed and were not good enough and too many of our better players failed to perform - save once again for Artur Boruc. Shaktar fully deserved their win.
Thankfully AC Milan beat Benfica.
Good result for Liverpool, but was as expected.
Chelsea may come to rue their draw.
See what Wednesday brings. _________________ Hail! Hail! |

Marseille Beat Besiktas !!! Yippeeee
Sadly, that might be the only team we will be able to beat. Even though we purchased Cisse and Zenden from Liverpool, the squad is not good enough to compete with Porto.
In Group A, Liverpool is untouchable, they clearly are in a superior Class.
I hope my second Favourite teams goes through (Arsenal). |

You have to think about why Cisse and Zenden were allowed to leave Liverpool!
Anyway, Chelsea were crap again. Don't know what's happening at the mo, but they are misfiring badly. _________________ I know nothing |

Liverpools poorest display of the season last night but still a good result. |

Well some interesting results!!!
The 2 English teams won with Arsenal's result giving them more impetus, whilst Man Utd struggled 1-0 (Again).
What can I say about the Rangers' result??? 3-0 away from home in any competition is a top performance and this is certainly one which no one had predicted or expected, so fair play to Walter Smith.
As for us, I travel in hope (certainly not expectation) the loss of both VOH and Naka may prove too much for us when we were already up against it playing the current champions - but we'll wait and see and hopefully we can snatch something from the agme.
It will be an intriguing match for Chelsea post Maurhinio and Liverpool being Liverpool will be ok. _________________ Hail! Hail! |
