I think first you will have to take the bus to Bangkok which could be very interesting.
From Bangkok the busses go frequently to Hua Hin.
From where and how? Haven't got a clue, my thai girlfriend knows so why should i know.

If you are already in BKK the best, fastest, cheapest and most convenient way is from Victory Monument - getting to the southern bus terminal is a pain.
Information is updated as follows:
Cost is now 180 baht. A/C Minibuses leave every 20-30 minutes from Victory Monument starting about 6am until about 7pm.
Take the skytrain to Victory Monument stop. Exit and stay to the left. You will walk along an elevated walkway for a few minutes that will bring you down into an area of market stalls and shops. You will see a hospital across the road to your left.
Go between the shops/stalls and come out on to a sidewalk in a small road. You will see a line of minivans. Across the road in front of a metal fence you will see guys sitting at small tables, ask anyone of them for HuaHin (Wah Hin) they will point to the right table.
Buy the ticket (the seller will point to the correct bus) and go back across the road.
Best seat (IMO) is behind the driver. Avoid front seats, no leg room and you will be the first to die. Lack of shock absorber renewal means the rearmost seats will shake your internal organs severely.
Takes about 2.75 hours depending on traffic and/or weather. |

Best description of this well used journey so far, despite the first dumbarse reply from wankie.
The gridlock usually only affects the inbound journey where if you only have hand luggage most drivers let you get out and walk.

| The minibus service is good for the new airport, but the normal bus service is pretty reliable. I have used it many times and have never had a problem, if you go to the ticket office earlier in the day I can even get them to stop on the main road near Hua Hin hospital to pick me up. I think the first bus to Bangkok is about 04.30 and they run until about midnight if I remember correctly. |

all very well but it stops for 20 mins 40 km into the journey Mini bus mostly for me unless I go on the bean can which is still quicker than the blue bus

Leaving from BKK...i knows where from was just after the times of departure.......Stick close to g/f Henkie don't want to see you get losted,now...  .....

True.
I took the blue bus for the first and last time in September.
It took very close to 4 hours (!) and then arrived at southern terminal which resembled Monrovia or Brazzaville ie. chaos.
Then the privilege of a further 20 minute bus ride to Victory Monument.
Never again. |
