Try Bison leather on Petchkasem Road - they will hand-make you a pair of shoes to measure for about the same price as a pair of average 'off the shelf' shoes in the UK. I can vouch for the quality - my wife had a pair of boots made there recently (although they were not size 12!). It took about two days for the shoes to be made.
My wife actually had them made at their other outlet, somewhere in the area of Soi Selakam - can't remember exactly where. I mention this because it is in a less obvious location and I wonder whether it may be cheaper there because of its less mainstream location. I am sure you can haggle the price anyway. _________________ "The man who never made a mistake never did bugger all" - Old Welsh proverb

| The Bison shop your talking about is near the end of Poonsuk, carry on straight past Crawfords bar (away from Soi Bintabaht), about 100 meters on the right hand side. The shoes look really well made, gonna try myself. |

Dr Dave,
I think the link you have just posted is to the main retail outlet, rather than the backstreet outlet being mentioned by Jaime. Even though all addresses are quoted, the map reference is to the retail outlet. Certainly, JW's directions are to the backstreet (cheaper) outlet.
I would guess, from the look of it that the backstreet outlet is where the goods are actually manufactured, so it will be more likely to be able to negotiate a better price. |

I have to agree that Bison is excellent. He has done a few things for me with belts and shoes. No job is too small and no shoe size is too large. Always remember though that US and UK sizes are off by one.
I was in there yesterday and JW's thigh length patent leather stillettos were coming along nicely. I can't wait to see him wearing them. _________________

The precision of the statement sounds Germanic so I will go for King George. Also the Englishman, George Washington, was famous for having under average size feat. _________________
