There's no option for 'other' or 'hair of the dog that bit you'. Whatever the cure. it usually involves drinking copious amount of liquid, alcoholic or otherwise.

However, my best cure these days is not to drink too much - at 49 years +, I've suffered enough hangovers to realise that they hurt. I find it better not hurt myself (most of the time anyway).

Apple or cranberry juice.
In extreme cases a shandy is sometimes the only way.

I agree with water, both internal and external, the colder the better. Get yourself into the sea or a cold swimming pool and get your heart and metabolism racing. Stay there for an hour or more.

You'll feel great for about 4 hours and then need a serious nap and presto-chango, you'll be ready to go the next evening. Pete Cheers

PS: As far as fuel/food is concerned if you don't feel like really eating, after the swim try 3-4 hardboiled eggs with a good amount of salt on them, washed down by a quart of milk. Then go for your nap. thumbs up

It's all a myth. There is no hangover cure, there are only ways of taking your mind off it for a while. The only way of not being hungover, as BB so wisely says, is not to get pissed.

My distraction, when in HH, is a big bowl of very very spicy noodle soup, a bottle of water and a beer. Preceeded and followed by vigorous exercise. Followed by another beer. And then another. And another. Maybe then some more food, and some more beer. Maybe then a dance in the Hilton, an argument in the karaoke. Go home and repeat.

You may have guessed today is Bank Holiday in Farangland, it's been raining for 36 hours and the maximum temperature, yes the hottest its got, is 5 f*cking degrees centigrade. With a gale force northerly wind so it feels like f8cking freezing.

The Thia grass is soooooo much greener.

Because alcohol really dehydrates your body, you should ONLY drink water to cure the hangover.
Adding water to your body will help with much of the nausea you feel after drinking too much alcohol.
Too hot or too cold water will only give you stomach pains.
Hot coffee will only make you feel sick, and will also dehydrate you further.
Take a aspirin or any counter pain reliever to get rid of your headaches as soon as possible.
Avoid pain killers like Tylenol etc because they contain acetaminophen which can severely damage your hard working liver.

Although I wouldn’t go as far as claiming that they will cure you, I find that Isotonic sports drinks are good at helping you to recover from a hangover. One of the best ones I’ve tried is the delightfully named Pocari Sweat which comes from Japan.

If you are not too far gone and can recognise that you are likely to have a hangover in the morning, have a glass or two of water (but not tap water in Thailand) BEFORE going to bed.

The theory is that it will help dilute the alcohol (which your body believes is poison) in your stomach and helps to reduce the dehydration of your body while you sleep as it no longer needs to draw as much of its own resources to dilute the poison.

everyones reaction to booze & hangovers are different. i go along with jimbo, as much water as i can possibly drink before sleep & continue drinking water in the morning.
only downside of this method is you may need a few trips to the toilet during the night.

As mentioned, I've always read there is no cure for a hagover. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so water helps to replenish. A hangover should be cleared up by 5 the next day (adjust for when you actually quit drinking). If you're still feeling bad it's alcohol poisoning.

Personally water, and menudo, a spicy mexican stew of tripe and hominy with lemon helps

A recent study has come to the conclusion that alcohol dehydrates you less in volume than the volume of alcohol you consume so you are in net gain thumbs up
The study also firmly refuted claims that alcohol shrinks the brain.
So the best hangover cure is the old hair of the dog !!

Cheers
