| Sarge, I think under their rules, he doesn't have a choice. Bush is still the nominal leader of the party. |

You are probably correct M but it would have done McC a big favour to keep his mouth shut after all the biggest argument of the dems is McC is a bush clone. Plus Bushes approval rating is lower than a snakes scrotum _________________ A Greatfull Guest of Thailand |

Palin believes in creationism and wants it taught in schools sorry but that does it for me Bush is a believer as well and we already know that anyone with that belief has a problem working things out _________________ A Greatfull Guest of Thailand |

Todays problems for Palin:
Earmarks: McCain touts her as a maverick saying "someone who's stopped government from wasting taxpayer's money." Records show when mayor of that small town of 6,700 residents she employed a lobbyist firm to secure 27 Million, the highest per capita amount in the whole of the US.
Then as alaska Governor she requested 30 earmarks totalling 197 Million.
That Bridge to Nowhere: She said she told congress "thanks but no thanks", now records show her quoted several times in 2006 saying she was in favour of it.
When announcing to Alaskan people she was abandoning it she said "It's clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island". Hardly thanks but no thanks.
Don't know how much truth is in the above but it's what the media are running with. Will be turned into a question about his judgement on picking someone after one meeting.
There may be trouble ahead .................

27 million what? And what's an 'earmark'? And how come 30 of them are so expensive? _________________ Never argue with a man carrying a water buffalo... |

LOL, sorry mate 27M USD, that's their currency over there
More: Palin said she would fight for the earmark to build the bridge at the same time McCain was trying to divert the funds to assist Hurricane Katrina recovery. He also said that people may not have died on the Missisisiippsisispppsppii bridge if funds were not side-tracked for that bridge but used for bridge safety inspections and repairs.
He didn't vett her properly and its gonna come back and bite him. Hopefully

You make it sound as easy as taking candy from a baby D-M. You have to propose valid reasons that will benefit the people and country as a whole, for instance some of Alaska's finest earmarks included:
"$968,000 in research on berries at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks"
"$499,900 to assess halibut harvesting"
"$25 million for Coastal Salmon Recovery"
"Representative Tom Latham, a Republican sponsored a $196,000 item for research into ways to reduce odors from swine and poultry" (Not an Alaskan one)
"Three times in recent years McCain's catalogs of "objectionable" spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time Sarah Palin"

Yeah I agree Sarge, I think he will win too, that's why I've put a bet on him. Hope he doesn't though, bet or no bet.
The Republican and pundits loved her speech.
