2) U-Turn
3) 224 (new place/name with live music)

we are working on this and updating the nightlife map but as we are now mostly family guys it is a little difficult to escape the kitchen these days, any help would indeed be appreciated _________________ "I don't often agree with the RSPCA as i believe it is an animals duty to be on my plate at supper time" |

Im prepared to ride up to HH and do an independent survey on behalf of HHAD. As a non resident it would be non biased and totally impartial. I would only charge 2 beers for each bar you wish me to rate. I can give a deailed report and post it online for visitors or residents to look at and compare. Bargain or what !
I an feel a change of career coming on,

As a side note, this has become a problem throughout the country, even at the top class farang pubs. Questioning has revealed that they have all turned up there frig thermostats due to ever increasing power costs. Get out the ice! matthew80, maybe this should be done via a poll or something.
I think bar preferences are very personal (although some might overlap). My choices would be very different from some others, because although I like friendly barstaff/girls, I'm not bothered about how pretty they are or any of the "after hours" stuff. I like good drinks, good company, reasonable location & music (if relevant).
I like Mai Tai, JW's, Happy Toro, Rose Bar & I used to love Takeang, though it seems my reason for loving it there has moved on. :p The reason for all of those bars is because I know either owners or staff & feel comfortable in them on my own & can be assured of a good time - and they all have good drinks at good prices. _________________ "The question is not, can they reason? for cold beer there is only one place - Billy's. Whatever else one may think, there is no doubting wee Billy is still true to his constant promise to have the coldest beer.
Helps if you're scottish though... _________________ ดวงขึ้น

Used to be called Mondo bar, opposite Rose bar, next to new hotel.
Not sure where they got their name from, but it's easily recognisable, it has red walls, a red pool table and the Chianti is ...... you guessed it.
The pool team are superb athletes

No one person could possibly get round all the bars in Hua Hin now. There are way over 100 and it is difficult to pigeon hole a bar. I.e. is it a bar, a bar restaurant, a karaoke lounge, a live music venue or a shop with a few seats outside.
I think Dunc may have the seed of a good idea though. In Pattaya one of the freebie publications does a monthly article called OFAB (out for a beer). It seems to be mad up of about ten guys who go out in groups of three and four and spend the evening in two or three bars and then report.
Would be good to see HHAD do something similar but there would be and obvious issue with sponsored bars. They would have to be avoided. I think you can forget the free beer but on the other hand if a bar is found to be worthy of a complimentary report I am sure a return with he published article would earn a beer.
What the reports were good at was highlighting little fiddles and showing up the larger over priced venues. One such fiddle that I have heard done here in Hua Hin is to advertise a large SangSom for 50 BHT and then charging 30 BHT for a bottle of Coke. _________________

Buddies Bar has always been one of my favorites, also on the list are Octopussy and Romantic.
A poll would be good but I think there would be too many options if there are a hundred bars and it would probably be rigged. |

Disagree, if you start at 11am and restrict it to just 2 drinks per bar, you can do the whole 100
Nice to see you the other night mate.

U Turn (French Canadians excepted)
Romantic
Road Hole
Any poll should be split between tourist bars and locals hangouts. All pretty meaningless tho - jobs for the boys. _________________ Never trust a hippy.... |

Heebio,
That's just a list of all the bars you've fallen asleep in and woke up to sunshine outside, no ?
