Anyone have any recommendations to help other members out?

Thought it might be a good idea to have an area on Women's Isssues where we women (& the guys) could put recommendations of places we've found in Hua Hin which have given a great service, are exceptionally cheap, are particularly beautiful - in fact anything that other members (particularly women) might be interested in or need to know.

So, if you have a hair salon you swear by, if you've found the ultimate Gaeng Kaew Wan, if you know where to buy something a tourist or new arrival might want, if you know the most romantic restaurant, the most woman-friendly bar, the ultimate massage/manicure/pedicure place, whatever... please post on this thread Very Happy

Apologies for being (as a male) the first person to respond to this! My girlfriend (soon to be wife) swears by the hair/beauty salon which is north of the main railway crossing on the left of the road that you turn right onto after 'Gee Antung' supermarket (rather than going straight on towards Hin Lek Fai, and more importantly Bamboo Grove!). Just after that there is also a shop that sells all the household necessities you could ever dream of at the lowest prices in town, as far as I can tell.

You're right about the household goods shop, you can buy anything in there. Good selection of decent but cheap crockery, too! thumbs up

Not sure if they speak English, sorry. It is actually the very first shop in that row, and there is normally a black SUV-type car outside with the name of the place on the side of it (in pink I think!).

Although most of the massage places I've tried have been good, my tip for the best, most soothing, decadent massages and facials is the Hilton Spa. I used to be a member there (can't afford it any more Crying or Very sad

) and tried various combinations of massages and facials, alone, with a friend and with my boyfriend (at different times, obviously).
Every time I went with my boyfriend, he'd fall asleep & snore (to the amusement of the therapists & me), it's that relaxing.

Beautiful decor, relaxing music & a truly luxurious experience. If you have some money to burn & want to be pampered, well worth a visit. Mr. Green

Totally agree about the Hilton spa, my husband fell asleep also. Also can recommend Sofitel spa, try their two hour body wrap and Thai massage package,wonderful! He fell asleep again. Both expensive but nice for a treat. Cheers

Hi, we had a few days at the anantara hotel, i know it's a little way out of town, but we found a great beach massage place to the left of hotel, there was a place to the left and the right , but the one on the left was always full and we sometimes had to book appointments to get in. The lady who rund it is known as mama, it was really cheap, really good service, during the massage we has aloe vera straight from the plants placed on any sunburned bits. Whilst we were there i was suffering badly from cold and blocked sinusus, she bewed some herbs up in a clay pot and placed a blanket over my head so i could inhale all the steam, absolutley brilliant. As every client left they were given a bag of fresh fruit.

In Had Sai Noi there are two beach restaurants. The second one, if going form the road, sells fesh crab which they keep in tanks outside. The price is always reasonable and the crab is excellent.

If vyou travel all along the Cha Am beach road in a Northerly direction and keep going when it turns into a dirt track and you can go no further, there are two harbour view restaurants. The one on the left is the best and has a snall car park next door. They have a selection of fresh fish in tanks and cook it to order. I have never been dissatisfied and the price is always reasonable.

Another of Hua Hins greats is Kin Lek. It is a southern restaurant on the beach side of Petchkasem aboutbopposite soi 98. The food is excellent but a little expensive but good vaue nvertheless.

Le Mar restaurant up towards the big golden Buddha end of town is a nice place for some Thai food at cheap prices, great sights from the place.

There never seems to be too many falangs up there, perhaps because it’s a bit to far out of town but it’s a great place for a meal and you can sit looking across HH from the tables

There also a house singer that seems to let guest sing if they wish letter on in the evenings

Where they perchance, all wearing v.short skirts? Love the way they can "tailor" their uniform to fit their "requirements" here. When I was nursing in UK, it was one baggy, knee length, horrible "dress" for all. Rolling Eyes

I'm a very happy man to-night.
Why?
Because I've got a new and very - very beutiful kitchen.
For the first time in my life I have got myself a BEAUTIFUL handmade kitchen.
The guy who made it is Boonsong Wunsua from Petchaburi.

I said beautiful, and I mean beautiful.
If any of you want a new kitchen, please pm me for details.

I'm 100% convinced that you can't find a better craftsman in Thailand!!
Expensive?

Cheaper than IKEA!!!

(And no, I don't get a dime in commission).
