Hi everyone, just joined today....I have been interested in Hua Hin for some time now, and hope to drop down there for a week or so next trip, which will hopefully be in the latter part of November. I just returned from two months in Thailand and Bali, and like most LOS addicts I was planning my next trip before the wheels left the tarmac.. ... this last trip I spent time in BKK, Pattaya, a week in Bali, back to Pattaya, and then up to Chiang Mai for Songkhran. Pattaya is great fun - I've gone every year for the last few years - but just a bit busy for me at times.....Hua Hin sounds a little more laid back, and looking at the excellent maps on this site there still seems to be no shortage of bars and, I am sure, the lovely creatures usually found frequenting them... . I'll probably be posting a few questions once I have found the time to read through or search the existing info.... _________________ Another hopeless Thailand addict... |

It is so nice to hear of all of you guys coming in the near future as the period could do with a bit of livening up.
What you will find hear with bars is that although there a less than in Pattaya or Nana you will find them more laid back and more friendly. Some see you as more than just a meal ticket and a good time for a night.
Also you will find bars that have decent music, good sports TV coverage with the sound on. You have to look though. There is a lot more than just one street in Hua Hin but most of it is still within walking distance of the vbillage centre.
We look forward to your visits. June can be quite pleasant as the temperature starts to cool and the rain has not yet started. _________________

Thanks Maipenrai
24 hours from now we should be over the English Channel heading far east
will advise full details of trip on return keep yourself posted.
Guess, it would be nice, but I fear we may spend the whole two weeks without ever meeting you guys, maybe we just have our holiday and come back home, what a bloody waste of kindred spirits.
Who is brave enough to have a party ????
You can leave our invite at the Hilton , we`ll be there.
ps Could someone please invite Maipenrai ??

John Stacey, I would love to take you up on your invitation, but I am afraid that I will not be able to get over there again until November...just booked my flight, Nov. 9 - Dec. 1, a quick trip for me, but I gotta do it....I hope you have a great time on your holiday....then again, how can you not have a great time in Thailand...??
Have fun.... _________________ Another hopeless Thailand addict... |

The place is addictive, i went to hua hin at the start of this year for the first time and going again for a mid year break and back again at the start of next year. I think its gonna become the bi-annual thing to do. _________________ Discover a new world on 2 wheels. |

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it....my regular driver goes back and forth from BKK-Pattaya-Hua Hin regularly, and after I spend my usual time in Pattaya I'll probably just get her to drive straight thru to HH...save me the trouble of overnighting in BKK. I try to meet some of the local expats wherever I go, and ran into some really interesting characters during my last trip; as I will most likely retire or at least semi-retire in Thailand in a few years, the more places I can see and people I can meet, the more easily I can make decisions about where to spend my time when I am able to be there for longer periods. _________________ Another hopeless Thailand addict... |
