| Don't let the illusion become a delusion, it'll only lead to confusion and you'll feel like a used yin'. |

Live in the house its 50% yours unless you waved that right at the land office. Piss her off she will sell out cheap after six months.Dont give her any money during that six months.
I also applaud your honesty it takes a real man to admitt that hes made a mistake. |

I thought it was law that farangs have to do this when purchasing land, ie sign away all legal rights or the land office will not transfer a chanote to a "mia farang".
Is there a way to get out of signing this bullshit then? _________________ Luctor et Emergo |

| It is my understanding that the house is 50% to each of the married couple, but the land underneath it is what you have signed away if you were the (farang) one who paid for it. In the event of a divorce each side is entitled to 50% of the shared possessions, which would include the house and it's contents (if purchased after the marriage), but the land belongs to the Thai. |

How is this possible if she has already changed her name on her ID card to the farangs? _________________ Luctor et Emergo |

My wife is on the chanote. Her name on the ID card is the same name as me.(farang)
That didnt seem to pose any problem although her daughter is on the chanote (jointly) using her Thai name. _________________ You only live once. |

May have something to do with it, was this in Hua Hin?
I know other parts of the country don't care but farang populated parts seem to enforce it ... "sign away your legal rights you stupid rich farang buffaloes". _________________ Luctor et Emergo |

I'm just getting in on this at the tail end but have one comment. Many times there is no need to be combatitive or suffer many sleepless nights trying to devise methods to counter a preceived coming attack, which may never come.
The OP's post "when return from Paris..." shows that perhaps a calm, in depth discussion could resolve the problems in an amicable way. If you're fair with her A. Mug, you may find that you both can get through this without a big fight. Offer her something reasonable. Good luck. Pete |
