I need to get a Power of Attorney notarized by an American Notary. Anyone know of someone with a notary commission in Hua Hin?
Would like to avoid a trip to BKK.
thanks

I was a Notary for the longest time but my commission expired several years ago. I think they have to be renewed every year and are governed by residence in a certain state so you wont find a Notary among the long termers here, aside from the fact that most of the forum users are Brits. Chances of finding one just passing through as a tourist are probably slim. (Dont even know if the Brits have such a thing!) Unfortunately, you are probably looking at a visit to that hellhole in Bkk called the US embassy. |

I believe the closest thing you can get is some version of the above from American Citizen Services at the US Embassy in BKK. |

Would the document even be legal if a visiting notary stamped it here in Thailand? The few times I had documents notarized .. can't remember for sure .. but isn't there an "at this place" also recorded? |

| I used a notary opposite the entrance to soi 80, not American but is that part really necessary? It took them a day to do 2 passports - 500 baht per page. |
