point less going for a test for three months HiV is noy usualy detecable within that tine period then you have the hour wait for the reults ( if you go to a hospital that has facilities to set up for fast result checking) then you have three things to worrie about wether you have the hiv virus, full blown aids , or your clear ,which i should imagine will be the worst hour of you life ,regardless of that hiv aids is quite difficult to contract through straight intercourse the percentages are irellevent , the fact of the matter is how much you value your own life ! you should think about this at the time(BEER IS NOT A EXCUSE ) condoms are readily available here and are advised in all giudes as well as travel info from most other countries about thailand
GOOD LUCK I GENUINLY HOPE ALL IS WELL AT YOUR WORST HOUR |

She was as stupid as you were ! But unless she knows she has something and is hell-bent on infecting every man she can out of revenge, the chances are you may both be clean and could get away with it. However, let everyone learn from this - and sincere good luck with the test. No more bareback riding, please ! I suspect this experience will have put the fear of god into you. The price is you will have a spell of severe anxiety to endure. Say your prayers.

Its not as big a risk as some would make out, catching HIV from regular intercourse isnt as easy as made to believe. Still, would you pull the trigger knowing there was only one bullet out of six in the barrel?
You need to wait 3 months before taking the blood test as dave said. All the best and remember to bag up, we know how easily some of these girls can play innocent and give you the "i only work here 2 months" and "i not go with many man" lines. Sangsom is also no excuse! |

I recently went to have a check , my councilor at hospital ask why i wanted it so i told him of my travels, he laughed at me and said i should not worry so much. The virus sits dormant in body and might only be active 2 weeks in a year. So if you happen to screw a girl within the active period there is a high chance of catching it.
He also told me he has couples come in and one of them is positive and the other negative and they still have unprotected sex and have yet to pass over to there partner.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN GO FULL OUT AND DO IT ALL WITHOUT CONDOM YOU COULD JUST BE THE ONE TO GO WITH A LADY WHO HAS IT AND THE VIRUS IS ACTIVE.....SO PLAY SAFE
PS.. had a johny go on me last night didnt know either till it was all over |

well you cant turn back time so hopefully you dident catch that virus ! just use condoms the next time and you will be pretty safe ! even if that girl had the virus it dosent mean you will have it to.as the above posters already said you need to wait 3 months till the doctors can detect the virus in your body.if you get an "positive" that will change the way u are living today but there are more harmfull things that can happen to you.there is good medicine on the market that will critical decrease the chance of hiv....aids......death.even if the virus sets up a resistance against one type of medicine they will replace it with another.
if you encounter those ladies unprotected then your chances of catching the virus is medium to brilliant ! 10 years ago i visited hh very often and i would be infected today ! i was very lucky that i seem to be immune against certain types of the hiv virus.
just play safe and might have far less problems ! remember even if you catch a girl in a bar and you are the first man for here in that job you are not safe ! a former boyfriend could have infected here !

Hi all,
Newbie here, and totally not wanting to start a flame war with my first post, *but* -
HIV is not a virus which is `active` for a few weeks each year, it is present in the blood stream, and in other bodily fluids (lymph, semen, vaginal fluid)
The percentage chance of passing the virus is linked to a number of factors, such as the transmission method but its better to direct people to a proper factual source:
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pubs/facts.htm
Or quote from one, rather than telling old wives tales eh ?
Regards,

Yes read the facts regarding Hiv it is terrifing to see such bad information here even the 'doctor' has dubious education!
Not the only one my GP wanted me to have a HIV vaccine before i left to thailand haha ( non existant)
HIV infection is rampant amongst sex workers (especially the uninformed) and by the way has been on the increase amonst hetrosexuals as much as gay people (due to misinformation that it is a gay disease!)
last year in the uk more hetrosexuals contracted hiv than gay people for instance...
anyhow read that link in the last post and read up about it from reliable sources.
good Luck with the testing ..be safe and dont worry too much hiv isnt every where but its not worth taking risks.
