Is anyone in hua Hin happy with their new home ? Did anyone get what they paid for ? Did anyone have good feedback from the agent and the developer during the building process ? Has anyone made money from rentals or resales ?
If so Please share your experiences .Surely I cannot be the ONLY person in Hua Hin happy with my lot .

Ours is fine, apart from a few delays, estate agent good, continues to provide assistance and help in all things Thai. developer quick to rectify minor issues. Quite happy. I'm sure lots of people are, but only negatives seem to be posted _________________ Curiosity killed the Quantum Cat |

Were very happy.
The finish is not up to normal western standard (especialy timber windows and doors) but we new that from the start.
Have since found out that the developer has a not so good reputation in town.
I am sure that we wont regret our decision.

Posting negatives is like news reporting. We only hear the bad news. Good news is not "news" I love good news. But I cant help but notice that not one Developer/builder's name has been mentioned in these positive responses. I find that strange. When people report on good restaurants they ALWAYS!!mention the name!!
Why did these postive posters not share with us the names of the developers/builders they are so happy with? Please excuse me, I can't help but wonder why. Then my negative side, you know, the little devil on your shoulder whispers: shills for developers, shills for the developers!!
Maybe, MAYBE NOT!! So please tell us about the good developers and the great deal you got. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

Five posts and four hours before the first negative post - is this a record? Or can one of the mods just delete HHS's last message and we can keep it going?
If anyone wants a positive recommendation on property, then please PM me. We have only good experiences in the past 3 years, of selling agents, building and letting agents.

I'm watching this thread with interest. As well as saying things like

It would be of particular interest to know what your particular experiences that make you so happy were. For example:
1. Did the developer go out of his/her way to visit you after your occupation to discuss snag lists, and then monitor progress on rectification?
2. Was your property handed over in perfect condition, and there have been no problems after XX years of occupation? etc etc. _________________ Green Army position 10 2007/08

Big Boy
1. yes
2. any new or old property anywhere in the word has problems. we have to wait and see how ours develop. We started building in March '05 and have had occupation since September 2006.
We may be lucky that we live next door to the developer and not on an estate. But you get what you pay for most of the time - budget house, budget afterservice.
This website has been excellent in telling prospective buyers to get their homework done before they buy. This thread asked for positive stories, I'm happy to put ours in front of anyone. But I'm English and we don't do things in public. If you want to pm me, I can name names happily. _________________ ดวงขึ้น

I guess that I'm curious about is what you would consider "positive" .. and why you don't want to hear "not positive". "Not positive" could actually be honest and accurate information.
If you only want to hear "the way you think things ought to be" .. I consider that to be negative.

It links to Crazy's earlier thread asking for some good news about anything. So he started one asking for some heart warming stories about the property market as every other discussion about property on this forum, ever, has degenerated into a slanging match between those allegedly who are estate agents making up stories about how great things are and those who believe that anyone buying a property in Thailand is in need of euthanasia.
Please see also "A positive thread about relationships" and "Positive threads". _________________ ดวงขึ้น

I agree Big Boy, it would be of interest to us all .
On point 1-If they did not then they have not fulfilled their role as a developer .Customer service is paramount to maintaining reputation and achieving success in most business' .
On point 2-Minor problems will surface on any new build anywhere on the planet .No developer or builder intends for them to occur but it is the manner in which they are dealt with that achieves customer satisfaction and an ongoing professional reputation .
Any more happy people out there ?

Guys,
Thanks for the additional information given so far - it really does enhance the credibility of your responses.
Jim,
I'm not looking to pry, just get a feel for why you have made a positive remark. I sincerely apologise if you have read my post, and misunderstood my motives. _________________ Green Army position 10 2007/08
